Driven to serve, the faculty, students, and stakeholders in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech (CS@VT) are committed to responsibly addressing globally significant socio-technical issues, pursuing complex research challenges, reimagining computing to reflect its ubiquitous impact on society, and working across disciplines to help individuals and communities thrive.
To enable this vision, CS@VT is committed to cultivating a supportive and engaged community that reflects the world we serve. We acknowledge the essential collaborations with external stakeholders in shaping curricular and co-curricular programming for our students to ensure they are well-prepared to enter the workforce with the necessary skills and knowledge to spearhead innovation and tackle complex challenges.
CS|Source, the department’s membership-based program, seeks to develop lasting relationships with our partners in all aspects of industry.
As a means of connecting employers with exceptional young talent in computer science, CS|Source offers its members exclusive opportunities to actively engage with our undergraduate and graduate students through formal career fairs, technical workshops, information sessions, professional panel discussions, tech challenges, and myriad social events.
CS|Source members benefit from brand recognition, student engagement, collaborations with faculty and research teams, and access to an outstanding tech talent pipeline.
CS|Source membership dues fund over $100,000 in student scholarships each year; provide resources for student-led groups and activities; cover student travel and registration fees for professional conference attendance; and support undergraduate research opportunities that address and advance technological solutions.
