Afroze Mohammed
Afroze Mohammad is the associate director of strategic alliances for the Office of Economic Development (OED) at Virginia Tech and also serves as the industry program director for the Sanghani Center. Her role at OED focuses on building strong partnerships between the university and companies in metropolitan Washington, D.C. She is responsible for fostering collaboration in research endeavors, entrepreneurial activities, and economic development. As industry program director for the center, she is developing a program of strong industry relationships to meet DAC research objectives and the research needs of industry in data analytics.
She has directed successful product marketing and alliance development programs at leading energy, educational technology, and telecommunications software companies. Her experience in consulting and academic research includes serving as a principal at Inventive Pathways, a management consultancy specializing in marketing and strategy. Earlier in her career, she was a research associate at Harvard Business School, collaborating with faculty to conduct research on leading business issues.
She earned an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in economics, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University.
